First Year Students
Incoming first-year students may apply to the William O. Douglas Honors College. Admission is granted to students who demonstrate excellence in academic achievement -both in high school course work and standardized tests. Self-motivated students with initiative and leadership skills are especially encouraged to apply.
Applicants are normally expected to have completed two years of study in a foreign language as well as meet mathematics competence requirements prior to acceptance. However, those who have not done so will be required to complete two years of a foreign language, and mathematics coursework through Math 154 (Pre-Calculus II).
Transfer Students
Incoming transfer students interested in the Upper-Division Scholarship Experience may also apply to the William O. Douglas Honors College. Admission is granted to transfer students who demonstrate excellence in academic achievement in post-secondary coursework.
Interested students should contact the Admissions Office at Central Washington University, and follow the procedures for first-year and transfer student admission. In addition, the Honors College has a separate admission form that should be completed and returned to the Honors College office or online through the DHC website. The Honors College Application does not substitute for the Central Washington University Application for Undergraduate Admission, and vice versa.
All applications must either be postmarked or sent electronically by May 15. Applications may be considered after May 15 if the enrollment cap has not been reached.
