In an effort to recognize individuals who have strived to better the lives of women, the Center for Diversity and Social Justice holds the yearly Women’s Achievement Celebration event.  This event was created to provide a venue to honor individuals who have supported women, to celebrate and honor women’s achievements, and to increase the understanding of women’s achievement among the CWU students and the community. The Women’s Achievement Awards can go to either male or female students, staff and faculty members, or community members.

An awards banquet will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 from 6 - 8pm in the Sue Lombard Dining Hall.

The individuals receiving the Women’s Achievement Celebration Awards will be selected based on the following criteria:

Below are the three Women's Achievement awards:

Women’s Achievement Award(s):  This award is given to female staff and faculty, or community members.  The nominee must be someone who has achieved success in the face of adversity, inspired other women through their lives (or story) and/or has shown a great deal of support towards women’s issues.

Keys to Success Award(s):  This award is given to male recipients who have supported women’s achievement and advancement. The nominee should be an individual who has encouraged and committed to the personal and professional growth of women (students, staff or faculty).

Student Empowerment Award(s):  This award is given to male or female students who have influenced the lives of women on the campus, the local community, and/or have inspired others through their actions or service.
