How To Access Services

Disability Services (DS) at Central Washington University (CWU) was established to ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided equal access to university programs, services and employment while at Central.

In order to be eligible to receive a specific academic adjustment or ADA accommodation, individuals must:

  1. Request Services from CWU/Disability Services
  2. Provide disability documentation from a qualified medical professional that verifies the existence of the disabling condition and describes the effect of the disability on the individual's ability to access the educational or employment process.
  3. Participate in the Interactive Process. Academic adjustments for students and ADA accommodations for employees are determined for on an individual basis by DS staff.
  4. Attend Intake Meeting

Plan Ahead! It is important to remember that academic adjustments and ADA accommodations take time to implement, so planning ahead is essential. Submit your documentation to DS in plenty of time for it to be reviewed and a plan prepared early in the quarter that you wish to utilize academic adjustments.
