Brian Hercules has been named the new associate director of Events Outreach at Central Washington University.
“Brian brings a wealth of experience to the position, not only in event management but also in professional staff supervision, and budget management,” said Scott Wade, executive director of University Advancement, in announcing the hiring.
Hercules is the owner and president of his own firm, Hercules Sports Management LLC, which specializes in event management, sponsorship acquisition, promotion, and business development for large-scale local and national athletic events. He also recently served as director of operations for the California-based, nonprofit Brothers In Arms Foundation, which was created to honor the legacies of fallen members of the armed services, and creating and financing educational and professional opportunities for service members, heroic community servants, and their families.
Hercules also served as the Bellevue High School athletic director from 2007 to 2010.
“My resume has always been aligned with education and academic institutions,” Hercules said. “Over the past five years I’ve also been highly involved in event planning and event management. This position struck me as a great balance between the two in a college environment.”
In his new position, he will direct the university’s Events Outreach team in planning and executing events that support the President’s Division and provide opportunities for alumni and donor engagement, said Wade.
A native of Trinidad and Tobago, who grew up in New Jersey, Hercules moved to the Seattle area 13 years ago to earn his master’s degree and teacher certification from City University in Bellevue. He received his bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a minor in counseling, from Rochester College in Michigan.
Hercules assumed his new duties on July 5.
