ELLENSBURG, Wash. (March 25, 2013) — Entrepreneurs from central and north-central Washington are invited to attend an April 4 workshop at Central Washington University on “Financing High a Impact Venture: Creating Jobs and Wealth.”

Hosted by Central Washington University’s Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I4IE) and co-sponsored by the Hebert B. Jones Foundation of Seattle the half-day workshop will be led by Liz Marchi, coordinator for the Frontier Angel Fund, based in Polson, Montana.
“This workshop for entrepreneurs is specifically developed to help regional businesses understand the elements of building an enterprise that creates wealth and jobs,” said Roy Savoian, I4IE executive director.
The workshop will provide real world knowledge for funding businesses, including:
     • Start-up capital requirements and stages of development
     • Investment opportunities—lender vs. investors
     • Exit strategies and options
     • Capital sources—angel investors vs. venture capitalists
     • Business plans for start-ups
     • What is a fundable company
     • How to surround yourself with great advisors
“It’s clear that there is a considerable gap to fill in helping our talented entrepreneurs in the region find information for creating businesses and securing the capital they need to start—and grow—meaningful, good-paying jobs,” Savoian added. “Obviously, we’re all interested in strengthening the climate for entrepreneurial development. This workshop will help better connect some of the financial dots to transition early stage business ventures into regional economic development.”
Marchi, the workshop leader, is also a member of the Montana Governor’s Economic Advisory Council, principal of Liz Marchi Consulting, and former CEO/President of Montana West Economic Development where she oversaw the creation of Montana's first angel fund, recruited business to northwestern Montana and worked in entrepreneurial development and lending.
