The Pearly Whites are proud to partner with Quincy Valley School for an outdoor movie at The Gorge Amphitheater, thanks to Live Nation! This year's event will consist of concessions and an outdoor showing of the 1982 blockbuster hit E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial (Rated PG). All proceeds will benefit both Quincy Valley School and Seattle Children's Hospital! So mark your calendars for Friday August 11th, gates open at 7PM. Come grab a spot on the grass, purchase some yummy snacks from our concession stands and watch the sunset. The movie will begin at dusk. Entry is FREE however you must purchase a $20 parking pass good for maximum 6 people per vehicle. Absolutely no pets, personal food, drinks, or coolers allowed.

This class will provide a fresh and updated view of the aging process while defining the differences between primary and secondary aging. Students will learn about misconceptions surrounding aging in different settings such as in the media and medical community, and how these perspectives can be positively altered. This class will offer every day wisdom about aging well to allow students the tools and resources to set goals to facilitate positive aging for a happy and healthy future. At the end of each week, instructor Laura Attaway will provide Wise Bits and some "homework" to aid students in being more aware of their day which is the first step towards positive change. Four Weeks – 4 topics: Week 1 – Standards of Aging, Primary vs. Secondary Aging Week 2 – Managing Media Myths about Aging Week 3 – Medical Community Perspectives & the Negative Spin on Aging Week 4 – Discovering your personal negative preconceptions & bias towards aging and how to get motivated to succeed Cost: $10 each session

Digital Storytellers! (For ages 11-14:) From the Hunger Games to Harry Potter we all love a great story. Whether you want to rewrite the ending to Star Wars, add yourself to a Divergent tale, or create a new adventure about your friends - any topic is possible in this class! Start with a concept, design the storyboard, add some dialogue, and watch as the characters in your imagination come to life in your first graphic novel! Projects will be available on a Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program. Lego Comics: Design Your Own Adventure! (For ages 8-10) In this LEGO adventure YOU are the star! Pick your favorite LEGO genre or create an alternate universe to create a digital illustrated story or graphic novel. Whether you want to fight alongside Superheroes, create a Minecraft story, hang with the Nexo Knights, or go into space with Rey and Finn, the only requirement is that you put yourself in the story! All students will end the class with a digital comic book that can be shared with friends and family on a password protected website! Students will work in teams for most of the program.
