You might have the best resume ever, but if you don’t interview well, it won’t matter. Being able to handle a job interview is a necessity for any job seeker. Knowing what employers are looking for and being prepared are absolute musts. In this workshop, you will learn valuable interviewing tips and have the chance to practice answers to frequently asked questions. The best way to beat interview nerves is to be prepared and strengthen your confidence!

Workshops start promptly; please arrive a few minutes early. Schedule is subject to change.
 
All workshops count as a job search activity for Unemployment Insurance requirements.

COMMUNICATION & CONFLICT RESOLUTION SKILLS for the Workplace This 1.5 day training will focus on communication and conflict resolution skills to address workplace problems and disputes. The skills learned in this training will be useful in all settings where people interact with one another, such as between coworkers, with customers, between supervisors or human resource staff and employees, and in personal relationships as well. This training utilizes large group presentation and discussion, as well as experiential practice as a means of teaching these skills. Participants will leave with concrete methods of addressing the conflict in their workplaces and in their lives.

Job clubs are rooted in the belief that each member has something valuable to contribute and that everyone benefits from the advice and encouragement.

Honor the dead while you celebrate the living at CWU's Dia de los Muertos festival. To emulate a traditional Dia de los Muertos celebration, a procession led by CWU Mariachi will leave at 5:00 p.m. from the Barge Hall courtyard and end at the SURC Ballroom. In this time, attendees will have an opportunity to honor their loved ones by laying a photo of the deceased on an altar. The festival will begin at 6:00 p.m. and will feature CWU Mariachi music and Aztec dancing, family-friendly craft tables, food vendors (Cash Only!) and more. This free event is open to the community.

The City of Ellensburg Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to consider public comments on the periodic review and update of the City of Ellensburg Comprehensive Plan. All interested persons may appear to provide verbal and written testimony during the hearing or written comments may be filed with the Community Development Department, 501 North Anderson Street, Ellensburg prior to 5:00pm on November 2, 2017. The draft plan can be viewed at the Community Development office or online at https://ci.ellensburg.wa.us/821/Comprehensive-Planning
