The visitors center has various informative and detailed displays, the views are stunning, and there will be tours that go into the base of an operational wind turbine at 10 am and at 2 pm! The Monday, April 1st meeting of the Kittitas County Genealogical Society (KCGS) will feature a presentation by member Erik Bakke. He will make us more knowledgeable about how to pursue our 2019 Genealogical Resolutions. At our January 2019 meeting, KCGS members were asked to write down one genealogical resolution they planned to work on during 2019. Erik will give us some ideas on how to pursue (and stay on task) fulfilling those resolutions. Our April 1st meeting will begin at 7:00 pm at the KCGS Library at 413 N. Main Street (Suite L) in Ellensburg. Guests are welcome. Hope to see you there!

Each week we write features on a variety of topics that can be found at We are hoping to attend Her Conference 2019 in Los Angeles on June 1 in order to gain professional development skills and networking opportunities that will prepare us for our future careers. Join the Museum of Culture & Environment as we celebrate the opening of spring 2019 exhibitions! The MCE’s main gallery features Peruvian Textile Traditions, which explores handmade textiles and their importance to different ethnic groups in Peru and Enemies of the State: Soviet Punk 1975 – 1991, which traces the development of distinctive Russian punk traditions—despite attempts to censor and criminalize punk musicians and their fans. Shattering the Veil: A Reclamation of Indigenous Women’s Identity, showcased in the MCE’s lobby, includes powerful images of North American Indigenous women declaring their identity by wearing their traditional clothing in colonial spaces. At this opening celebration, visitors will be able to hear from exhibition curators and enjoy food and camaraderie!
