CWU’s Honors Convocation will be held Friday, June 7, at 7:00 p.m. in McConnell Auditorium. The annual event celebrates the achievements of our President's Scholars, Dean's Scholars, graduates of the William O. Douglas Honors College and Science Honors Program, the recipient of the Master's Thesis award, the university’s Distinguished Faculty, and the Civil Service Employee of the Year,
To qualify as a President's Scholar, a student must have a cumulative grade point average that places them in the top 1 percent of their college (College of the Sciences, College of Arts and Humanities—which includes Interdisciplinary Studies, College of Business, and College of Education and Professional Studies).
To qualify as a Dean's Scholar, a student must have a cumulative GPA that places them in the next 5 percent of their college.
Students who are academically qualified for honors at convocation will receive an invitation to this year's event.
All faculty and staff are encouraged to attend to help acknowledge and celebrate these accomplishments. Faculty who plan to participate in the processional are asked to meet in Shaw Smyser at 6:20 p.m.
