Combined Fund Drive

Washington State Combined Fund Drive
Empowering Washington public employees and retirees to
strengthen their communities through the funding and support of charities.

Central Washington University encourages all state employees
to participate in the Washington Combined Fund Drive.

ABOUT WA CFD
The Combined Fund Drive (CFD) is Washington State’s workplace giving program for active and retired public employees. State and higher education employees are invited to give to the charity of their choice through payroll contribution and agency fundraising events.

FACTS & FIGURES
For more than 30 years, Washington State has proven to be one of the most giving states in the nation. Each year, over 15,000 active and retired public employees pledge more than     $5 million to over 1,700 local, national and global charities. That number is good enough to place Washington State third in the nation amongst state employee giving programs, an incredible feat given the fact that our great state is 13th in overall population.

OUR CHARITIES
Though the program currently disburses funds to more than 1,700 charities, there are actually over 4,000 member charities in the CFD. In order to qualify to be a part of the CFD, our charities must be a registered 501(c)3 or 170(c)1 with the Internal Revenue Service, and must also have an updated registration with the Office of the Secretary of State.

The Combined Fund Drive does not endorse or condone the actions of any individual member organization. The program merely acts as a connection between the donor and his/her charity of choice. To find out more about what disqualifies on organization, download our program WACs by clicking here.

As outlined in the Combined Fund Drive’s CONTACT POLICY, there are very strict policies placed on its charities when contacting donors, ensuring that the CFD protects the privacy of everyone who gives through payroll contribution.

  • Monthly Contribution A recurring amount will be taken out of each paycheck until the employee chooses to stop.
  • One-time Contribution   A single donation is collected and distributed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
  • Limited Time Contribution   Donations will be taken out of each paycheck for a set amount of time as defined by the employee.
  • Personal check

Click "Make a Donation" in the left column of this web page to start giving NOW.

OUR VOLUNTEERS
Without our volunteers, the Combined Fund Drive could not function as a viable giving organization. Over 900 active volunteers are stationed in various state offices and higher education campuses across the state, administering the program and promoting charitable giving to their offices.
