CESME

EKG Sensor

An EKG is used to measure the voltage produced during muscle contractions, especially contractions of the heart muscles. CESME has one Vernier EKG sensor available for checkout.

Required accessories

  • This sensor does not have onboard data display capabilities so it needs to be paired with a compatible data display device. CESME does have LabQuest 2's available for checkout, which are compatible with this system.
  • This sensor requires the use of disposable electrodes to make a measurement. Currently CESME does not have electrodes available so they must be purchased by the end user. Electrodes should be purchased from Vernier directly; as of Winter Quarter 2017 the cost is $12 for a pack of 100 electrodes.
