The Neighborhood Relations Committee develops activities and materials to educate students regarding state and local ordinances, to help students be good neighbors, and to educate landlords/property owners on their rights and responsibilities. The committee’s goal is to help improve neighborhood relations and improve the quality of life for all, on campus, in the downtown, and out in the neighborhoods.
A comprehensive Neighborhood Relations web site (www.cwu.edu/nr) was created to help students enhance their off-campus experiences and become connected with the greater Ellensburg community. The web site contains a wealth of information to keep students safe and legal with their choices.
On-campus programming includes workshops on communication skills and conflict resolution and a vast array of social media efforts aimed at educating students on being a good neighbor.
Through community service efforts, students give back to the community, as depicted by the group on the right and bottom of this page helping conduct an “earth day” clean up in the Currier Creek neighborhood.
