Office: Bouillon 206X
Education: Fitness Trainer Program, Ashmead College; Associate of Arts, Wenatchee Valley College and Peninsula College; Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Spanish, Central Washington University
Experience: The combination of needing to support and put myself through college, enjoying new learning opportunities and trying not to get stuck down the wrong career path caused me to accumulate a myriad of experiences. From working in fast food restaurants to fine dining, to gyms and physical therapy offices, to teaching English in Spain and many in between, I can literally say that I have done just about a little of everything.
Favorite Job: Although I know that my favorite job still awaits me, I really enjoyed my job here in Career Services as a student Peer Advisor. I was really excited to learn of this job opening in Career Services where I am now making the transition from being a former student employee to a full-time staff member. I know that I will be constantly learning new things and meeting new people here on campus.
Least Favorite Job: My least favorite job was a 3 day stint pulling rotten potatoes off a conveyer belt at a potato factory in Moses Lake. The smell of rotten potatoes coupled with the heat and the spinning conveyer belt made me nauseous the whole time and I did not live to see my 4th day of employment as a potato puller.
About Me: I grew up primarily on the “wet” side on the Olympic and Kitsap peninsulas. I am the oldest girl of a family of 11 children which made for less than not enough money growing up. On one hand, this made it very hard to have the tools necessary for success and a higher education but on the other hand it gave all of us children the ultimate freedom to decide and experience things for ourselves. So far I am the only one of my siblings to graduate from college but I know that I won’t be the last. I graduated from Central in 2010 with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and that following school year went to Spain to teach English and learn Spanish. I just returned to take this job in Career Services and I am really enjoying being back on this beautiful campus.
