Employer of the Quarter, Spring 2011
Kadlec Medical Center
Jan is a life-long resident of Richland, Washington and a 1992 graduate of Eastern Washington University with a BS in Health and Exercise Science. She began working for Kadlec Regional Medical Center in the Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab Department in 2001. Over the years, Jan has helped many patients learn to manage risk factors associated with heart disease, especially understanding the importance of diet and exercise in managing cholesterol, reducing blood pressure, controlling weight and improving their overall sense of well being.
Jan works with a team of specialists that are physician-led and includes registered nurses, exercise specialists and respiratory therapists. These professionals provide support and encouragement as well as monitor lifestyle changes.
To practice what she preaches, Jan participates in daily exercise and maintains a low-fat diet. Snowboarding and boating are her passions that she enjoys with her husband Lonnie and two children, Madi and Michael.
“Jan went out of her way to give me the best internship experience I could ever ask for. From day one she made me feel confortable and a part of the team. Jan was patient and willing to help me with anything I had questions about or [was] interested in learning.” – Ashley Hogan, nominating student
