Current Peer Advisors

I am a Music Education major here at Central. I came to Ellensburg from Federal Way, WA. When I graduate, my plan is to teach English abroad before coming back to the U.S. to teach high school choir.

Music is definitely a great passion of mine, but it is not my only one. I also love to meet new people, socialize (a lot), and do almost anything that is team oriented. I like sports, though I tend to be better at just watching and commentating, and I like staying active through running, hiking, and playing volleyball.

I love working at Career Services because I get to interact with students and help them develop professionally. Meeting with students and seeing the progress they make is gratifying and motivates me to learn more to better assist them.

I am a Psychology major, with two associate degrees in Sociology and Ethnic Studies, I plan to graduate this Spring 2015. I would like to work in a University setting after I graduate, either working as an Academic Advisor or in a specialized program for students on campus. I really love this job because it allows me to work one-on-one with students and practice my counseling skills. My goal as a student is to learn as much as I can, so that I can pass on my knowledge to others.

I am from Seattle, but I was raised in Yakima, WA. After I graduate I would like to move back to the Seattle area, I am definitely a city girl. My hobbies include: creative writing, listening to music, watching movies, and hanging out with my family. I am also a huge animal lover, and can’t wait to have my own house where I can have all the animals I’d like.

I am a junior at Central Washington University and I plan on majoring in Nutrition, with a possible specialization in Dietetics.  I was born in Wenatchee, Washington, but I moved to Darby, Montana, when I was in the fifth grade.  I obviously missed Washington because I moved back to attend school, which was a pretty big move for a girl who had always been with her parents.

I love working with people and I am a VERY talkative person, so any job that requires talking, I am all for that!  I can be shy, though, so it all depends on the environment. Once I am comfortable, there is no stopping me. I am excited to be working with Career Services because it is a great way for me to work on my weaknesses and use my strengths.   I enjoy helping others and this is an amazing opportunity to work with fellow students, as well as faculty.
