She graduated from Central Washington University in 2018 with her B.S. in physics, and a specialization in biophysics. Her current thesis work focuses on building a real-time particle tracking confocal scanning microscope in order to study single molecule kinetics in real-time via direct observation. Also, in collaboration with colleagues at the University of Bari in Italy, she is constructing in vitrolipid bilayers in order to study the aggregation behavior of Aquaporin-4 (AQP), an integral water channel protein located in the central nervous system in humans.
