Cats at the Capitol: CWU Lobbies for Change in Olympia

Wildcats will be taking over Olympia on Friday, Jan. 26 for the annual Cats at the Capitol lobby day. This all-day event is free for students and alumni. This is a great opportunity for individuals to get a tour of the capitol building and get connected with lawmakers who make decisions that affect not our community at large, but also Central Washington University, according to Michael Scott, ASCWU VP for legislative affairs.

Turn that idea into action and become an advocate for real change! Wildcats are welcome to lobby for any preferred issue that you are passionate about. Important issues that will be on the forefront are college affordability, tuition freezes, transparency with student loans and state needs grants.

The shuttle to Olympia will leave at 7 a.m. and return at 9 p.m. Lunch and dinner will be provided for all participants. Enjoy a day in Olympia filled with great policy discussion, prominent speakers, and passionate advocates.
