Volunteer for Earth Month events with the Center for Leadership and Community Engagement!

It's almost April, which means it's almost Earth Month! The Center for Leadership and Community Engagement has a full month of events that need volunteers, so consider signing up today!

April 12 | ElemenTree

Work alongside Mid-Columbia Fisheries Enhancement Group, Kittitas Solid Waste and Mt. Stuart students at Irene Rineheart Riverfront Park! You'll host environmentally friendly activities to educate 5th grade classes from Mt. Stuart Elementary School on the different aspects of Earth Day and how our lives directly affect the health of our earth! REGISTER TO VOLUNTEER 

April 13 | Olmstead Spring Cle​anup

Get out in the fresh country air and help preserve the past for future enjoyment. Olmstead Farm, one of the first homesteads in Kittitas Valley, needs a hand with some small maintenance projects. REGISTER TO VOLUNTEER

April 20 | Yakima River Cleanup

For the 46th annual Yakima River Cleanup, join 400 CWU students and community members for service projects throughout the Yakima River Canyon and surrounding Ellensburg community. Volunteers will engage in projects such as trail restoration, litter removal, and campsite renovation. REGISTER TO VOLUNTEER

May 4 | City Storm Drain Stenciling

All storm drainage system nationwide are for the collection of rainwater off of private parking lots, and public roadways. Whatever washes off of private property into the streets, ends up in the nearest stream, lake or river untreated. The City of Ellensburg sweeps the streets, cleans out the catch basins and pipes to try to keep the system clean.

We need your help educating the public about the about this matter. Making the drains so the public knows not to put pollutants into the system is important. Overall, you are doing your part to help keep the Yakima River and its tributaries cleaner. REGISTER TO VOLUNTEER
