Veteran and award-winning author Phil Klay at CWU on March 9

Please join us in welcoming Marine Corps veteran, author and speaker Phil Klay to campus on Saturday, March 9 as part of the "Lt. General Terry Robling Speaker Series."

Phil Klay is a graduate of Dartmouth College and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He served in Iraq’s Anbar Province from January 2007 to February 2008 as a Public Affairs Officer. Klay’s writing has appeared in the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, and the Brookings Institution’s Brookings Essay series.

Klay will speak at 11 a.m. in McConnell Auditorium, where he will also answer interview questions from Major Bonnie Kovatch (CWU Professor of Military Science, head of CWU's Army ROTC program). At noon there will be a book signing for his work titled "Redeployment," which won the 2014 National Book Award for Fiction. Books will be available for purchase at the CWU Wildcat Shop.
