Happening Today, February 20!

Keynote Speaker
3 pm to 4 pm

Benefit Concert
6 pm to 8 pm

President’s Day is a time to party in honor of America’s past commanders-in-chief. Keep the party and the pride going with Honoring Our Veterans. There are 21.5 million veterans in the United States. They served our country, now it’s time for us to serve them and jam out in their honor.

Honoring Our Veterans is a day dedicated to the men and women injured in service to the U.S. Events will include a free benefit concert with a raffle and a presentation from Keynote Speaker Peter Schmidt.

Peter Schmidt will present about issues veterans face when readjusting and reintegrating back into society, especially when going to college. Other speakers will discuss services available to veterans on campus.

After the keynote presentation, hang around for a few hours then head over to the SURC Pit for the main show. Unheard Voices: A Call to Action for Our Veterans promises a night of rockin’ entertainment. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.  Acts will include spoken word and musical performances by fellow wildcats. There will also be a raffle to win fantastic prizes donated by local businesses.

All proceeds will support the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), a national organization dedicated to serving injured veterans.  To learn more about WWP, visit

Honoring Our Veterans and Unheard Voices are sponsored by CWU’s Center for Leadership and Community Engagement. For more information, contact the CLCE and ask for Jeanette Genson.
