Teach Children about the Legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.

This Martin Luther King Jr. Day, join the Center for Leadership and Community Engagement in teaching students from Lincoln Elementary January 14 and Mount Stuart Elementary January 15 about Dr. King and his legacy. MLK is remembered as one of the greatest figures of the Civil Rights Movement. Help us pass his memory along to the next generation.

On January 14, students from Lincoln Elementary will arrive at the SURC Theatre at 9 am to 11:00 am. On January 15, students from Mount Stuart Elementary will arrive at the SURC Theatre in two shifts: 2nd graders at 9 am - 12 pm and 5th graders 12 pm to 2 pm. The CLCE is seeking 50 volunteers to guide students through a number of activities, such as writing about leadership, role playing various civil rights situations and making signs for a peace walk that the students will take back to Lincoln and Mt. Stuart.
