Job Postings, New Location and Min Wage Increase
Welcome back, everyone. We hope your holidays were pleasant and safe. Please let us have a moment of your time to make a few announcements/reminders.
First, the Human Resources Student Employment office is pleased to announce that, effective Winter Quarter 2013, on-campus student jobs (Ellensburg and the Centers and Sites) are being posted in PeopleAdmin (PA) on the Human Resources Jobs page. Jobs that were posted on the on-campus job board as of December 31st have already been transitioned to the new site. If you had a job posted, please review it so you know what it will look like to students. If you have any questions about your posting, feel free contact Karla Shugart (x2270) or Kathy Johnson (x2072).
All future on-campus student job postings will be submitted via PeopleAdmin. We anticipate that the process will seem familiar; in PeopleAdmin, you enter job information on-line into specific fields just as you did before.
Most student jobs (even those which were not active postings at the time of the transition) have been uploaded into PA and are in “Draft” status; if you know the job number or title, we can help you find it so it can be easily and quickly posted. We will schedule training on submitting job postings. In the meantime, feel free to contact Karla or Kathy if you need to post a student job.
Next, the Student Employment customer service office is now in the main Human Resources office in Bouillon 140. The telephone number (509-963-3053) and email (firstname.lastname@example.org) remain the same. Feel free to come in, call, or send us an email if you have questions about students or their employment, background checks, pay, etc.
Finally, we want to remind everyone that the Washington State minimum wage increased to $9.19/hour as of January 1, 2013. The HRIS staff in Human Resources is ensuring that the pay for all employees (including students) meets the minimum pay requirements.
We look forward to working with you during this new academic quarter. Feel free to let me know if you have questions about any of the above.
