Sexual Assault Victim Advisor (SAVA) Training

31% of women and 15% of men have experienced some sort of unwanted sexual experience since becoming CWU students (CWU Safety Survey, 2009).  Do you feel confident in responding to a student if they disclosed to you they’ve been sexually assaulted?

SAVA is an acronym for Sexual Assault Victim Advisor.  The goal of this workshop is to train a person to be a resource to victims of sexual assault.  This training will focus on how to respond to victims of sexual assault with emphasis on crisis intervention and referring victims to the appropriate campus & community resources.

SAVA training will be held on November 18th, 5:15pm-8:00pm, in SURC 202.  To sign up, please visit www.cwu.edu/~wellness/savaregistration.html.

Training is free and open to students, staff, and faculty.  Upon completion of training, participants will be certified as Sexual Assault Victim Advisors and be able to advertise themselves as such.  Space is limited, so sign up quickly!
