REGISTER NOW: Behind the Badge 5k helps the families of fallen officers

The CWU Law and Justice Club is teaming up with University Recreation to host the Behind the Badge 5k Fun Run Saturday, Nov. 3 at 11 a.m. to benefit families of fallen and injured police officers. Registration is $15 and is available at the Recreation Center front desk or online at Participants will receive a t-shirt and a portion of the registration fee will go directly to the Behind the Badge Foundation.

Last year’s event raised approximately $500, but this year the portion of each registration fee donated to the charity will double, increasing from $5 to $10. The funds raised will benefit an organization that steps in when tragedy strikes the law enforcement community.

The foundation offers a variety of assistance to families of fallen and injured officers. Helping can be as simple as taking the widow of a fallen officer out to coffee, or providing financial assistance for things like counseling and childcare.

For more information on the 5k contact Kayla Horning at 509-398-1965 or Visit to learn more about the Behind the Badge Foundation.
