The latest upgrade for the Mac, OS 10.9 or Mavericks, is out and free for Mac users through the App Store. Some Macs may even prompt for the download. Before you upgrade, please consider the following:
1. Check to make sure your Mac meets the minimum recommendations. It may not be able to run the new OS. You can view the requirements here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5842?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
2. Make sure your Mac is up-to-date, including any third party software that is installed like MS Office. If you are using Parallels to run Windows or another virtual machine, you will need to upgrade to Parallels 9.
3. Give your Mac a tune up. All CWU Macs have Yasu installed in the Applications folder. Give it a run.
4. Backup. Once your Mac is updated and problem free, back up all of your important files to a network or external drive.
