Liahna Armstrong, Professor of English and Film Studies, presents a segment of her current writing and editing project. Arm- strong is co-editor of a
forthcoming collection of scholarly essays tentatively titled Hitchcock's Children, which probes the auteur's often unsettling and disturbing depictions of children. The collection is comprised of fifteen essays by various academic scholars and includes an introductory essay by Armstrongaddressing Hitchcock's paradoxical agendas of both vali- dating the Western ideal of the bourgeois family, and simultaneously subverting its legitimacy by exposing its propensity for psychosexual pathology.
