Please join the Human Resources staff in saying goodbye to Karla Shugart: Grupe Center, Thursday, April 11, 2-4pm. In her new position Karla will be responsible for establishing a compensation system for the roughly 6400 employees of the Choctaw Nation in Durant, Oklahoma.
Durant has a population of about 16,000 (Karla says its much like Ellensburg) and is the second largest city within the Choctaw Nation. It's also the home to Southeastern Oklahoma State University and is known as the Magnolia Capital of Oklahoma. If the Oklahoma state song is any indication ("Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain") she will not miss at least one aspect of Ellensburg life!
Since 2001, Karla has been an integral part of the HR organization, willing to take on difficult tasks, and glue things together with her knowledge and experience. She will be missed.
Come by Grupe Center on Thursday, April 11, from 2-4pm to wish her goodbye and good luck.
