Poverty Simulation Volunteers Needed

Did you know that 1 in 7 people live in poverty just in Washington State alone?

Volunteer for the Poverty Simulation event sponsored by the Department of Family and Consumer Science on Saturday, January 27th, 2018 to participate in an educational event designed promote awareness of the structural challenges low-income families face.

Participants will be assigned a family profile and will attempt to navigate paying bills, getting to work, caring for children, accessing services, etc. Student volunteers will collaborate with other students and community members as they play their assigned family roles.
