7th Annual Polynesian Luau!
Thursday, May 23rd
FREE and open to the public!
Aloha mai kākou! Please join us for one of the best-loved events of spring quarter at CWU: the annual Polynesian Luau! The Luau is the featured evening event of Student Appreciation Day, and the night's cultural performances will include CWU's very own Hula, Tahitian, Fijian, and Maori Haka dancers. Seattle's "Sunshine From Polynesia" dancers and drummers will headline the evening with traditional dance, costumes, music, and drums, including the breathtaking siva afi, or, Samoan Fire Knife dance. Trivia and door prizes, too!
Also join us in observance of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month throughout May by visiting the partition board on the first floor of the SURC, and by attending our "Who is Polynesia?" program on Monday, May 20th at 6:00 pm in SURC 135, where you'll learn the answers to the trivia questions that will be asked during the Luau later that week!
Many thanks to our generous sponsors: Campus Activities, Filipino American Student Association, Equity Services Council, Pacific Islander Cultural Dance Club, and Center for Diversity and Social Justice.
