Performance Poet, Social Justice Activist, and Author Sonya Renee Taylor Comes to Central on February 28

Award winning performance poet, social justice activist, and author Sonya Renee Taylor will be at Central Washington University (CWU) on February 28. The event will start off with a meet and greet and book signing from 4-5 p.m. in the SURC Pit. Taylor’s The Body Is Not An Apology (TBINAA) book will be on sale for purchase.

The festivities continue at 7 p.m. in McConnell Hall Auditorium with Open Mic Night, followed by Taylor speaking from 8-9 p.m. Hear Taylor strike down on societal norms, violence, and traditional archetypes of beauty in order to demystify what it truly means to obtain radical self-love. Free tickets are available for students, staff, and faculty starting on February 1. General admission tickets are available on February 15 for $7 at http://cwu.edu/tickets.
