OPR is kicking off the spring season—and the outdoor adventures that come with it—at its annual Outdoor Spring Symposium Thursday, April 18.
First will be the vendor portion of the Symposium, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the SURC patio. Attendees will be able to buy gear, inquire about employment opportunities or plan trips at more than 10 different vendor booths, including Northwest Riders and Motion Board Shop.
This year’s vendor fair will feature live music from the bands Fight or Flight, Gem Starks and Black Burn. Attendees will also have the chance to enjoy food prepared by CWU Dining Services.
Following the vendor fair will be the Long Board Slalom contest in front of OPR from 3 to 5 p.m. Register at OPR for a chance to win prizes including new long board decks, wheels and bearings.
The Symposium comes to a close with a screening of the CWU Wakeboard Club’s new film “Pursuit of Gnarliness” at 7:35 p.m. in the SURC Theatre. The film features highlights from the club’s past year of competition, including qualifying for this year’s nationals in Louisiana. Tickets will be sold for $3 at the Wake Sports Club’s booth at the vendor fair earlier in the day and for $5 at the door. The screening will also feature a variety of giveaways and door prizes for those in attendance.
