New digital archive of CWU's student newspaper

Dr. James E. Brooks Library would like to announce that Central Washington University's student-managed newspaper, the Observer, and its predecessors, the Campus Crier and Student Opinion, has been digitized, 1917-2000. Most editions of the newspaper are now available online: http://digital.lib.cwu.edu/studentnewspaper/

CWU's student newspaper has been published since December 1916. Today, it constitutes an important resource on the history of Central Washington University and the surrounding region. Brooks Library, therefore, committed in the fall of 2012 to digitizing the newspaper in order to foster greater access and use, and to preserve the original newspapers for the next generation of researchers.
