For a night of astounding vocalization attend the Spring a Capella Concert at CWU Monday, June 9 at 8:15 p.m. at the Jerilyn S. McIntyre Music Building Concert Hall. Four a capella groups, The Pretty Pitches, Nada Cantata, Boots ‘n’ Cats and Blunt Force Trauma, will showcase their unique styles and entertaining sets at this free event.
This year, the Pretty Pitches, Nada Cantata and Boots ‘n’ Cats represented CWU as three of ten groups to compete at the International Championship of Collegiate a Capella (ICCA) West quarterfinals at Pacific Lutheran University. Nada Cantata received third place at the competition, as well as best choreography and best solo. Boots ‘n’ Cats placed second, and went on to represent CWU at the ICCA West semifinals in Los Angeles. Their semifinals set included songs such as Flo Rida’s “I Get a Good Feeling” and Bruno Mars’ “Treasure.”
Other performances of note include Nada Cantata and Blunt Force Trauma at the 5th annual Northwest a Capella Concert at Western Washington University and Boots ‘n’ Cats at the CWU Symposium on University Research and Creative Exploration (SOURCE).
Each of the four groups is sure to bring their best to this fresh form of entertainment. Don’t miss the chance to be a part of each group’s rise to further success.
