Kittitas Connect takes students into the community

Float the river, preserve history or save the floodplain!

The Center for Leadership and Community Engagement invites students to volunteer for one or all of our Kittitas Connect events. The series takes students into various parts of the community for a good time and service. Volunteers will meet at the SURC Pit for each event.

Saturday, Oct. 5, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.:
Yakima River Canyon: Come float the river and pick up litter along the way! Enjoy the fall air, see the best of the canyon and help make the river a better sight for everyone. Co-sponsored by Outdoor Pursuits and Rentals.

Saturday, Oct. 19, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.:
Olmstead Place State Park: Spend today preserving part of yesterday for tomorrow! Volunteers will assist in small maintenance projects at one of the first homesteads in the Kittitas Valley. Co-sponsored by Washington State Parks.

Saturday, Oct. 19, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.:
City of Ellensburg: Help the city with floodplain restoration at Reecer Creek. Volunteers will spread seed and hay to help keep the floodplain viable. Co-sponsored by the City of Ellensburg and Mid-Columbia Fisheries Enhancement Group.

Space is limited for each event, so sign up early!
