Important Information for Student and Temporary Employees

Happy New Year!

Important employment changes became effective 1/1/18. Minimum wage increased to $11.50/hour beginning January 1, 2018.

Temporary employees, including student employees, now accrue paid sick leave at a minimum rate of one hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked. Employees may use paid sick leave:
• To take care of yourself or a family member;
• When you are or a family member is the victim of sexual assault, domestic violence, or stalking; and
• In the event the university or your child’s school or place of care is closed by order of a public official for any health-related reason.
