Hispanic Heritage Month Workshop w/ scholar Erim Gomez: Planning and Preparing for Graduate School: Keys to Acceptance, Funding and Success on Wednesday, Oct. 24

Erim Gomez, a prominent Latino McNair Scholar and a Bullitt Environmental Fellow, will lead a workshop designed to help prepare and encourage students heading to graduate school. Planning and Preparing for Graduate School: Keys to Acceptance, Funding and Success, will be Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 3 p.m. in Black Hall, room 150.

Gomez, Ph.D. candidate in Biology, is currently working with a $100,000 research grant in the Endangered Species Laboratory, School of the Environment, Washington State University.

Gomez has first-hand knowledge of what it takes to get into higher degree programs and how to succeed once accepted. By sharing his experiences with the application process, funding and acceptance, Gomez will help students gain a better idea of what they can do now to prepare for their futures in graduate programs. If graduate school is a possibility, this is a presentation not to be missed.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information, please contact CLLAS at 509-963-3347 or visit www.cwu.edu/latino-latin-american.
