Hispanic Heritage Month: "Estamos en la lucha: Immigrant Women Workers Light the Fire of Resistance"

A new perspective gives light to a different side of the immigration debate. Activist and Vice-Presidential candidate Christina Lopez will visit Central Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 5:30 p.m. in Science Building, room 147, to present her recently-published pamphlet, “Estamos en la lucha: Immigrant Women Workers Light the Fire of Resistance.” This event is free and open to the public.

In the ongoing battle over immigration, Lopez has played an active role for many years. With this, her most recent work, Lopez shows the role women immigrant workers play in the immigration rights movement. With working-class leadership and a fighting spirit, these women have made their mark, and Lopez will show how in her detailed presentation.
