In keeping with the College of Arts and Humanities theme of "How Green is My Valley?", CWU music professor Jeffrey Snedeker will present a faculty recital entitled "Flora" for Horn at 4:00 pm on Sunday, October 7, in the Recital Hall of the McIntyre Music Building on the CWU campus. Assisted by Ellensburg photographer Douglas MacArthur and other faculty, students, and community members, Snedeker will perform music for French horn that itself is inspired by flowers, plants, and the environment. MacArthur will contribute photographs that will be presented in a slide show highlighting the specific "flora" that inspired the music (or at least the titles). The musical styles range from lush 19th-century melodies to jazz, including three standard jazz tunes that will feature Snedeker, trumpeter John Harbaugh, and a jazz combo.
The concert is free and open to the public.
