Congratulations to this past month’s recipients of external grants and contracts, awarded either through Research & Sponsored Programs or through Foundation Relations (CWU Foundation):

 

  • Chong Eun Ahn, History, received an additional $36,567 from the Academy of Korean Studies for Seed Money for Korean Studies at CWU.
  • Miriam Bocchetti, Student Success/CAMP, received an additional $425,000 from the U.S. Department of Education for CWU College Assistance Migrant Program.
  • Miriam Bocchetti, Student Success/CAMP, received an additional $3,571 from the Washington Student Achievement Council for Washington State Supplemental Grant for CAMP, 2019-2021.
  • Miriam Bocchetti and Ramon Cardenas, Student Success/HEP, received an additional $474,965 from the U.S. Department of Education for CWU High School Equivalency Academy.
  • Anne Egger, Geology, received $4,091 from the National Science Foundation/University of the Pacific for RAPID: Teaching field geology without classes in the field - providing a robust capstone experience through digital resources.
  • Traci Goff, Foundation Relations, received $2,000 from the Lummi Nation for student scholarships.
  • Steve Hackenberger and Josh Allen, Anthropology, received $3,916 from Tierra Right of Way Services for Ground Penetrating Radar Survey (GPR) – Asotin County Grave Features.
  • Jill Hernandez and Rebecca Lubas, College of Arts & Humanities and University Libraries, received $257,903 from the National Endowment for the Humanities for Preserving Central Washington University’s Engaged Humanities Pedagogy, EthicsLab, and Digital Scholarship, Post-COVID. 
  • Michelle Hill, Early Childhood Learning Center, received an additional $15,902 from the Washington Student Achievement Council for Affordable Child Care Program, 2019-21.
  • Audrey Huerta, Geology, received $141,058 from the National Science Foundation for IPA Appointment - Program Director of Tectonics Program.
  • Anne Johansen, Chemistry, received an additional $185,678 from the National Science Foundation for IPA Appointment - Program Director of Atmospheric Chemistry Program.
  • Ediz Kaykayoglu, Associate Provost of Extended Learning & Outreach, received an additional $322,144 from Pierce College for BS Interdisciplinary Studies - Social Sciences/BS Social Sciences.
  • Kristin Leslie, Special Education Technology Center, received an additional $40,000 from the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction for Special Education Technology Center, 2019-20.
  • Troy Nealey, University Advancement, received $8,000 from the Wells Fargo Foundation for Kitna Golf Tournament Sponsorship
  • Carlo Smith and Steele Campbell, Finance & Supply Chain Management, received $15,000 from TD Ameritrade for Personal Financial Planning Program.
  • Paul Winberry, Geology, received $174,379 from the National Science Foundation for Collaborative Research: Resolving Earth Structure Influence on Ice-Sheet Stability in the Wilkes Subglacial Basin (RESISSt).
