Earth Month | City Storm Drain Stenciling

Notice Type:
Event Date:
Sat, 04/06/2019
Event Time:
8:30 am - 1:00 pm
Event Location:

It's time to start getting excited for Earth Month beginning in April and there are plenty of ways for you to volunteer and get involved!

Did you know that whatever washes off of private property into the streets, ends up in the nearest stream, lake or river, often untreated?

All storm drainage systems nationwide are for the collection of rainwater off of private parking lots, and public roadways. The City of Ellensburg, Washington sweeps up the streets, cleans out the catch basins and pipes to try and keep the system clean.

How Can You Help?

As a volunteer, you will assist by dispersing around Ellensburg to label storm drains with a reminder of the impact dumping pollutants down the drain has on the environment. This event helps keep the Yakima River and its tributaries cleaner, so come do your part for our community and environment!

T-shirt registration deadline is March 29th, so sign up today!
