The CWU Environmental Club will host numerous Earth Day events Monday, April 22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC). Come out for free, fun and valuable information on green living and enjoy doing your part for sustainable living.
To kick off the event is a screening of the movie “Switch,” which will be shown in the Theatre at 11 a.m. This educational film was named Best of Fest at Colorado Environmental Film Festival and covers human energy consumption and our increasing carbon footprint.
Former CWU student and Environmental Studies major Connor Risden will perform live at noon on the SURC East Patio. Risden’s performance is sure to be poignant and relevant to the event’s goal of environmental awareness.
“Mad Cowboy” and guest speaker Howard Lyman will discuss meat consumption in the Theatre at 3 p.m. Lyman has been featured on Oprah and is famous for his work as an animal welfare activist, organic farmer and promoter of vegetarian nutrition.
Alongside these special performances, displays on plastic use and green living will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the East Patio. CWU Environmental Club members will be present to discuss environmental issues.
