Dine & Tote 11/15: Turkey-Stuffed Squash, Apple Cabbage Salad and Pumpkin Bars

Notice Type:

Ka-bam! Spice up your craft cooking

Tired of stale leftovers and the dull, always repetitive top-ramen? Well there’s hope for you and your wallet! Dine & Tote is a year-long program, offering three classes a quarter, that focuses on many aspects of cooking, baking, and frying for students of any experience. The goal of the Dine & Tote is to make cooking fun and show students how easy it can be. And the best part? It’s absolutely free.

At the beginning of class, the instructor will go over the basics of the dish and what ingredients are needed. By the end of the class students will have a perfectly made dish to take home. Whether you’ve been cooking all your life, or you’ve never used an oven before, there’s always something new to learn at Dine & Tote.

“It’s a judgement free place to learn how to cook a meal,” Samantha Thurston, intern at the Wellness Center, said. “People can come with any level of cooking skills or learning ability.”

Dine & Tote is the perfect event to meet new people or have a date night with that special someone. Hang out and practice both seasonal dishes and the basics.

This weeks main dish will be turkey-stuffed squash and a side of apple cabbage salad. And what would a meal be without dessert? Come prepared to indulge your sweet tooth with pumpkin bars. Each session will feature a selected dish for students to cook as well as a side or dessert.

Registration is free to students. All classes start at 5p.m. and last anywhere from an hour to three hours. Seating is limited.
