CWU Alumna Bethany Vierra discusses the homogenization of both Muslims and Americans in the media and how damaging stereotypes shape perceptions and contribute to manipulation of opinion in the U.S. and Middle East.
Bethany has worked and lived in Senegal, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia, she has a Masters degree in Middle East and Islamic studies from the American University in Paris, and currently writes a blog for a national newspaper on relations between the Middle East and the West.
