CWU Libraries services are virtual!

Currently the James E. Brooks Library building and our Center outposts are closed, but we're operating online services and can deliver many of our resources electronically. Check our Service Updates page for the most accurate and up-to-date information. Questions? Research help? Ask us

Virtual research help and general questions

Zoom research consultations by appointment

Staff remain available via phone and email

Access to electronic collections

CWU Libraries provide remote access to many electronic resources including eBooks, eJournals, and streaming media. Available through the Libraries' Catalog.

Subscriptions include over 170 databases across all disciplines, all of which are accessible on- and off-campus with CWU credentials.  We have added many electronic resources to address the needs of online instruction. Click here for the most recently added titles.

Research Guides are available to help students and faculty explore the online resources available in specific disciplines.

This simple guide highlights ways to find eBooks, articles, media and more related to specific subject areas.

Access to physical collection

Current checkouts extended to start of Fall 2020 Quarter

Scan and delivery offered for journal articles and book chapters

Home delivery of physical books and media

More than half of CWU Libraries collections are digitized in HathiTrust, who provide access to copyrighted material in their library to member institutions with physical copies of those items.

Access to collections not owned by CWU

CWU students, faculty, staff, and alumni may recommend a book for purchase. We are currently only purchasing books in electronic format.

Requests for article and chapter scans from collections worldwide are available. We’ve joined an extended resource sharing network for expedited delivery.

Requests for physical Summit and interlibrary loan materials are currently suspended.
