OPR is hosting their annual campus-wide bouldering competition Cranksgiving Friday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. at the CWU Climbing Wall. Spectators are welcome and admission is free and open to the public.
Cranksgiving will feature the best climbers Central has to offer defying gravity as they perform a series of routes on the Climbing Wall without the assistance of a rope. Competitors will be given a three-hour time period to complete their desired routes, with their top-five scores added together for a final score. Climbers will be judged on how clean they run each route and will be awarded extra points for completing the route on their first attempt.
Spectators at Cranksgiving will get to see climbers of all skill levels test their physical and mental endurance on the climbing wall. Watch as competitors scale across the wall with precision as they climb towards the top spot in their respective division. Once the climbing has ceased, champions of each division will be crowned and awarded a year of supremacy as the top climbers at Central.
Cranksgiving has become at tradition at Central, encompassing good competition and a fun atmosphere for both the competitors and spectators alike. Don’t miss this night full of great competition and rock climbing.
