CWU Chamber Choir - Duruflé Requiem

Wednesday Evening, Chamber Choir will be presenting Maurice Duruflé’s setting of the Requiem Mass.  The concert will take place at the Ellensburg Presbyterian Church, beginning at 7 pm.

This 40 minute work is one of the more important choral masterworks of the 20th century.  Duruflé based much of the requiem on actual plainchant found in the Liber
Usualis – melding it with a 20th century harmonic language.  The result is a sublime, intensely intimate
work.

Maria Roditeleva-Wibe will accompany on the organ.  The choir's conductor is Director Of Choral Studies' faculty member Gary Weidenaar.

There is no admission charge.  A free-will offering to defray expenses will be collected.
