Brooks Library Wins "Muslim Journeys" Award from NEH and ALA

Brooks Library Receives "Muslim Journeys" Award

CWU’s James E. Brooks Library has been awarded the national Bridging Cultures Bookshelf award, sponsored by the American Library Association and National Endowment for the Humanities. As the award winner, the library will receive the “Muslim Journeys” collection of books, films, and other resources—which will be available to library patrons later in winter quarter—and a one-year subscription to Oxford Islamic Studies Online. Scholars, librarians, humanities educators, and other program experts selected the entire collection, which is designed to help familiarize the public with Islam. It provides trustworthy and accessible resources about Muslim beliefs and practices, and information about the cultural heritage associated with Islamic civilizations around the world.

Brooks Library will host Muslim-themed events promoting the new collection throughout the remainder of the academic year.

Event Type:
