University Recreation and Campus Life will have a new addition to our management team starting January 28, 2013.
Dr. Andy Fields has accepted the position of Director of University Recreation. Andy and his wife Kristen a professional mountain guide will be coming to Central from McCall, Idaho where Andy was previously serving as the Organizing Dean of Health and Human Kinetics Division. Prior to his work at McCall College Andy also served as the Director of Outdoor Education, Director of the Stanford Leadership Institute, and a member of the Senior Staff Management Team for Physical Education, Recreation, and Wellness at Stanford University.
Andy received his Doctorate in Education from the University of the Pacific in 2010 completing his dissertation in “Leadership Self-Efficacy in University Co-Curricular Programs.” Andy also completed his Masters of Science in Adventure-Based Management & Outdoor Leadership at California State University, Hayward in 2002.
Andy and his wife enjoy the Outdoors and consider themselves Recreation enthusiasts who are excited to become members of the greater Ellensburg community. In speaking with Andy it is clear that he is excited about the opportunity to lead the Recreation Department and will draw on his rich experiences in helping to move the department forward.
