“W.E.B. Du Bois at the Center: From Science,
Civil Rights Movement to Black Lives Matter”

Aldon Morris,  a Leon Forrest Professor of Sociology and African American Studies at Northwestern University will discuss his book “Scholar Denied in which he promotes W.E.B. Du Bois as the founding father  of  sociology  using  the  empirical  Philadelphia  study  as evidentiary support for his claim.


Dr. Morris has also written the award winning book, The Origins of the Civil Rights Movement: Black Communities Organizing for Change  and  co-edited  Frontiers  in  Social  Movement  Theory. Dr.  Morris  has  received  numerous  awards  for  his  works  and  distinguished career.
