6th Annual KCSR Banquet

Sixth Annual Banquet Supports Kittitas County Search and Rescue (KCSR)

Partnering with the CWU CLCE once again, the Kittitas County Search and Rescue (KCSR) will be hosting a dinner banquet and auction from 5:15 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the CWU Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) on Feb. 3. Tickets cost $30, and proceeds from this event will support the KCSR's snowmobile, horse, K9, coms and backcountry team training.

Several different teams comprise the KCSR, utilizing everything from dogs and horses to snowmobiles. As a non-profit organization under the direction of the Kittitas County Sheriff's Office, they assist with search and rescue missions, as well as other emergencies such as wildfires. The banquet will feature a silent and regular auction, with big ticket items like a rodeo weekend package and a winter ski package, to name a few.

When discussing the KCSR and their involvement in the community, Kim Jellison asserted, "I would love to see Central students get involved in this, it would be a great experience."

The CWU CLCE is looking for about 10 student volunteers to assist in hosting the banquet. Volunteers will be responsible for set up, registration, item running, and clean up. This is a great opportunity for students to get involved in their community, and students can register to volunteer online.

The KCSR is responsible for serving the vast community of Kittitas County. This banquet helps the community give back to those volunteering their service no matter what the situation. With a tasty meal and some awesome auction items donated by local businesses, the KCSR Sixth Annual Banquet is sure to be a success. Tickets are available at Cascade Kids, 219 W 3rd St. Ellensburg, WA or online.
